  • You’ve probably heard it plenty of times before, but getting adequate sleep is of utmost importance. Every extra hour of sleep middle-aged people get can be beneficial for the heart. If the body is sleep deprived, it releases stress hormones that block arteries and cause inflammation.
  • Having a diet rich in fibre also can help reduce the risk by a considerable extent. Recent studies suggest that the more fibre you eat, the less likely you are to have a heart attack.
  • Ditch the white bread for whole grain options, cereals oats, etc. Add beans to your dishes, soups, and salads. Along with a good diet, exercising is equally essential.
